Alpha Testing
From the looks of it, it seems hard to become an alpha tester.
Exactly how does one become an alpha tester? The only thing I've seen is placing really high on the GvG ladders (top5?). |

Well, since it's out of Alpha and into Beta, I would assume it's very much impossible.

Tips for getting in.... Not that I am one, but I think its important to be very involved in the GW community, and there are many ways to do that. Other than that, I really couldn't tell you what it takes.... I guess lots of patients is a good start |

Things like the "Top 5 Ladder Guilds" aside, there are essentially only two ways to get into the Alpha test:
1) Recieve a Personal Referral from an existing Alpha Tester. These are intended for Friends / Family that would make good testers, and are limited/take a long time to earn. As such, asking existing Alpha testers to let you in is most likely not going to get anyone anywhere. 2) Recieve a Guild Referral from a Guild within the Alpha test. Though I can't speak for them as a collective whole, Guilds should only be using these referrals to bring in people who are actual members of the Guild - and people who would make good additions to the test. There have been a few exceptions where people have been brought in for no reason other than their outstanding contributions to the community - either way, there's no real quick or easy way in. I can tell you from personal experience, it took many, many months of constant work on our old forums helping people out before I earned a referral. It takes a lot of commitment to get in, because a lot of commitment is what is expected of a tester. |

Make friends with existing alpha testers and don't do anything controversial in the community.
Peace, -CxE

Hmm, I've had two shots at this.
1. Never ever say you might be gone without specifying the mount of time. 2. Never mock Gaile, make fun of her or tell her how to do her job. She takes it all personally and holds grudges. |

You also have to actually do things worth noticing. Kissing up works too, but well how many yes men do you really want testing a game? Most of the people I have seen get tester status have actually done useful things on forums ect. Then again I see people who fit the same characteristics passed by ...
Its a bit of a crapshoot, but who you know and what you've done are both important. That or you could win a contest. |
